LIBRARY fun, outings, and sold my house!

So we had a large group of all ages who visited the Library on Saturday the 7th. We had primary aged children, who we split into two groups.  One of the gals who took the younger kids asked me to make her a beanbag so I whipped these up with the
remenants of a dress I shortened for a missionary. It was nice becasue we had teens that were doing indexing, and adults doing family search. SO we were busy all day helping patrons which is the way I like it!
I saw a Sister Missionary from Somoa who was wearing a jade green colored dress. I liked it so much that I found this one for me. All cotton , loose and comfortable yet nice looking. I guess we are having the dog days of summer now. So it has been hotter now then it was all summer. So I needed to order a few more tops for warmer weather. Wearing synthetic fabrics just makes me hot, so cotton it is for now. I jut got another one, cranberry colored. Love them both.

So my house finally closed on Friday September 6th. it sold for $409,000. We were asking $425,000 originally. We had a full price offer the first day it was on the market, then a few weeks later our second buyer offered $415,000. they dragged it on and then at the last minute after tying my house up for over five weeks duing primae market time they backed out. Sigh...
I owned my home for ten years almost, just short of nine days. I am really sad to leave the neighborhood. However I am  really glad to unburden myself with such a big home and yard to care for. I am looking forward to a simpler housing situtation with more social opportunities. preferrably one level and a pool, clubhouse, excercise areas, outdoor things to do etc. that kind of thing. I am not strictly looking for 55+ because I like having kids around. I lean towards San diego area, Oceanside or Carlsbad if I can afford medical insurance here. Or possibly Saint George. I need a lower altitude and cleaner air for my asthma. Plus they have five quilt stores there...

So earlier this week I was asked to tutor a Tongan Elder who is struggling with the langauge.
President Cordon is so impressed with how I have helped his wife with her English that he now wants me to help him speak like a native.

September 4th one of the couples invited Sister M and I along to visit the promendade. It is a closed off walkway area with  lots of little shops . I loved the papyrus store they had some relaly nice and clever music boxes.

there were these cute dinosaur water fountains also.

The Beach was just down the street. you could see the Sanat Monica Pier from here.
We had lunch at the Ye olde English Inn? I think it was. We tried their  fish and chips and meat pies and tea sandwhiches. Someday I want to go back and enjoy their  traditional English Tea with all the typical littel sandwhiches and cakes etc. They offer herbal tea as well. It  was quite quaint and I was tickled to hear the waitresses Bristish accents, along with seeing the decor. It reminded me very much of the pubs in England.

I want to get the meat pies next time also.

There was a fun speacialty candy shop which I thought was a hoot. I found my favorite chocolate covered gummy bears there, and even swedish fish covered in chocolate. I also found gummy legos, and sweetart like candy legos.

I thought the gummy Chinese noodles and Sushi were a hoot!

ok used bookstore. I was definietly tempted to go in there.

I thought these flip flops with grass soles were hilarious but also a good idea. They were surpringly soft.
