Turns out Sister Pugh from Hurricane Utah is quite the talented crocheter. She made me the doily you see in this picture below.\
She is teaching me how to read a pattern and crochet it out. I made the orange rose above with her help. I gave it to a sister to put on a hairband for her sister.

Dinner at the Cordon's was yummy.

We filled three huge tables with Senior missionaries!

Ham and scalloped potatoes. I can't remember when I last had potatoes like that. My mom used to make them.

I particularly loved the Ponce a traditional Guatemalan mulled cider-like drink with all kinds of fruit in it. After you drink it, you eat the fruit for dessert or chill it to have the next morning. There were raisins, apples, papayas, pineapple, cinnamon, prunes, oranges? , It was quite the drink. Wonderful flavor! I want to get the recipe!

strawberry infused water

We also all received a traditional small loaf of Guatemalan Christmas bread also filled with fruit. Dried fruit that had been soaked in juices and baked into the bread. Better than fruitcake any day.

We played some games. My neighbor won twice the prize for guessing the most coded Christmas songs or phrases. I missed it by one. So they gave me a smaller gift.
