Visitors and Disneyland

So I apologize for the lack of entries but the days have been flying by.
I can't believe we are already halfway through August!
With permission, I am going to borrow some FB posts from some of my missionary friends to bring you up to speed as I have fallen behind here with updates.

Ok ,
so the glasses arrived on August 5th the day my friends left. Let's back up a little.

July 29-August 4th
However, my headache was so bad and my neck so stiff I went to see a chiropractor. He was ecommended by another sister missionary. Sister B was having problems with her hip at the time. Turns out she needed to sit on a different chair in the library so that her knees were level with her hips.
Anyway, when I got there my neck was so stiff that he could not even think about adjusting me. Instead, he spent about 40 minutes working trigger points and pressure points. My occiput was so tight I felt like someone has hit me in the back of my head with a baseball bat. It was a dull ache that left me really incapacitated. It is hard to think when you are in pain. So result I got some tremendous relief just in time.

So I worked Wednesday and Thursday am so I could take my preparation day on Friday and be off Thursday evening. So my friends the Mineers arrived with their youngest daughter Lucy in tow.

I had wanted to take Luch to Disneyland since she has never been. Plus she is the same age as my granddaughter Destiny would have been this year. So kind of a virtual grandkid trip. I have known Lucy since she was about 4 months old. She is a very bright precocious, and deep thinking child,
I have wanted to take my grandkids for years too but it hasn't happened yet. She will be 6 in October.

So this was Lucy's first plane flight and first trip to Calif and Disneyland and the ocean. Her Mom Shaun is my good friend and sewing buddy and her Dad is a school teacher and like a brother to me.

I am going to post some pictures. Let me just say that we all had a good time and they were officially my first visitors so we broke in the fold-out couch. I don't have a one-bedroom apartment yet, maybe in a years time I will. So it was like a giant slumber party. Lucy was so excited!

Overall it was a blast to watch her expressions and reactions to everything.  So stay tuned. Luch had really wanted to come with her mom when she drove me out here with all my stuff. I left my car here after moving into my apartment . I then flew back to Utah for the MTC experience and for doing last minutes things in regards to the house. Luch really missed her Mom Shaun while she was with me for four days. So I told her I would fly Lucy out with her next time she came. So when her Mom got home, they decided to come out the begiing of August and Lucy faithfully counted off the days.
