seeing the light...

So I will try to catchup up on what  I have been doing.

Basically, I was having two weeks of chronic headaches, fatigue, and couldn't keep my eyes open.
So I asked for a priesthood blessing on Monday at our " Come Follow me" FHE group. That was on the 29th of July. At 5 am I woke up and had a thought to read up about the effects of fluorescent lighting exposure and the lack of natural light.

Lo and behold there were all my symptoms listed right there on web MD. I didn't have all of them thank goodness! However, my circadian rhythm was surely getting messed up.   I was sleepy during the day and couldn't stay awake. Yet at night I would be tired, but couldn't fall asleep until  12-1 am.

It is rather frustrating when you need to get up at 7:45  am to start the day. Then work an 8-hour shift at the library. Originally I was told our shifts would be 9-3 or 3-9 but turns out it is different. That has taken some getting used to. I am usually on my feet a lot of the day at home, so sitting for long periods is not something that I am not used to. So I try to get up every hour at least and move around and stretch, etc.

I spoke with the head librarian the next day and he said we did indeed have fluorescent lighting.
So he suggested I speak with another gal, who has macular degeneration and uses special glasses to protect her eyes.  So I ordered these glasses on Amazon. Another librarian wore special glasses too, for decreasing the amount of blue light from the computer screen.

The glasses  I ordered help with computer light but most importantly the fluorescent flickering lights which were giving me ongoing headaches. They arrived on Monday the 5th of August and have made a huge difference!
