Farewell August 5th back to work

So as I said before my friends left on Monday. I was sad to see them go and their daughter wanted to stay here but I told her her mommy needed her. Besides she was going to get to go to Kindergarten this year.

After I took them to the airport on my lunch break my car decided to break down and go chug chug  chug and barely went over 20 mph. So I called the closest Honda dealer and limped the car over there for them to look at and repair. There were nice enough to drop me home at the Library. I had left at 12:30 and planned to be back by 1:30 but with the car issue I didn't get back until nearly 3-3:30. I texted the Librarian and my friends to let them know what happened.
When I got back I discovered that my glasses (see picture below) had arrived and I was delighted to see that they made a difference. So no more headaches, no more can't keep my eyes open, after a few days of using them I started sleeping normally again. I also found I was sleepy and stayed more alert at the library. We don't have natural light. They do in the mission office but not the library.

Fortunately, my car was fixed by Tuesday night. $360 later turns out some kind of arm thingy was broken that does something with the oil, the switch was stuck off. So the car didn't work right. Anyway, it works great now. I had to call my dealer to check on what services they had done recently since the new place wanted to do a bunch of stuff. I declined. I will need new tires eventually. I am going to have the mission office guy (who is over the car fleet) check on that for me.

I was wondering how I would get back Tuesday night after work. So I asked a gal in the library who is local. I offered her $20 to take me there so I wouldn't have to take an uber or lyft.
She is a colorful character and it turned out she lived near where I needed to go, so she gave me a ride. On the condition that I DID NOT pay her anything.  She tells the greatest stories and volunteers here every Tue, Wed, and Thur from 9 to 9. I found out the other day that she is not even a member of our church. She is a delightful person.

A rose I thought was beautiful and would make a pretty quilt

My new glasses,  Not great looking but they work well and that is all I care about.
