Pioneer Party with a twist of lime

Hi All,

yes it has been busy and I have been dropping into bed every night with relief. It has all been good.

I swiped the following from my friend'd faeebook page to save typing time.

"We occasionally get special blessings. Check out below what somebody brought in for the Familysearch staff today..Goodness gracious! What a treat."
I had a silver of a piece. Honestly I am not a big fan of cheesecake unless it is my mom's pineapple one that is quite light. Probably becuase of my lactose issue.

"Tonight, the local church members celebrated PIONEER DAY. Someone set up a kid-friendly mechanical bull. There were bounce houses and slides.Tons of food: street tacos, beans, rice, hot dogs, watermelon, various salads, chips, cookies."

There were sliced cooked carrots but  to my surpirs they were spicy.  I passed
on those. DInner was all great and filling and it was fun to watch them make three flavors of meat tacos.

It was fun to meet new people and visit around. There were so many languages being spoken, Farsi, Korea, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese, Somoan, Tongan, and English of course.

" After dinner, the games began: Sack races and water balloon tosses. Later, I noticed the teens and adults playing some kind of ball game I'd never seen. Best part: Socializing with total strangers and going table to table, taking family pictures. "

this little lady is quite the character and is from CostaRica and her earrign are from the galloplus Islands.

"Friendly is fun. An older Asian lady saw us and wanted to join in. She seemed lonely.
(ME: She was widowed 12 years ago and her kids are grown and she is alone.)
So we invited her to come hang out with us Monday nights. The young missionaries (who speak Japanese) offered to help her with English lessons and showed her how to set up her phone to text in Japanese characters. She was so delighted by the attention."

My Trainer Sister M

A really nice couple from Az who are serving with me. He has muscular dystrophy and his scooter broke down and stopped right in the middle of the crosswalk after the game, three times.  Apparently it was quite a scare. Fortuantely he was protected and arrived safley home.Sat he was bale to get a rental whole his is being repaired.

Several of the missionaries Senior as well as younger ones attended the baseball game I mentioned. I heard some tales and the seniors all got back late in teh wee hours of teh mornign because htey all took public transportation.  Apparently there were fireworks after the game too. Here are a few pics of what occured.

So after the big dinner I amde a run to Ralph's for my asthma prescription and got some fruits for the fruit salad I am making for our senior dinner on Monday night.
