Los Angeles ...

I spent the day Saturday moving my apt around and putting things away. 
I also did  my laundry in the Apt luandry room which was quite nice.
 It was only a quarter to wash and  a quarter to dry for 45 minutes. 
They had pleanty of machines and it was well kept, sunny and cheerful.
I went to the temple hoping to go to the cafeteria for dinner only to find out,
 that it closes at 5 on Sat and & pm on teh weekdays.
SO I ran and got some dim sum.Xiao long bao (dumplings with soup in them) really delicious.
I made a trip to CVS to get some vitamins that I needed and a few supllies.

WHen I got back the mist/ ocean fog was settling over the city last night  see the picture. It has been cool or at least confortable. Today there is a nice cross breeze coming through my front door and back screeen door.

Church was interresting to say the least...more later I think I need a nap,




I am falling asleep in front of the computer.

I met Estreniah in the library a few months ago. We got talking, about life. I was helping her with the family search for a bit. She is nanny here, and it was her night off.  She had majored in Sociology and me in psych. We both love kids and had a lot to talk about. She sent part of her later life in foster care. So someday she wants to be a foster parent too. Which lead to our discussion about the challenge of raising children who have experienced early trauma. I introduced her to another Sister to help her. A few days later she came again with more questions. This time the questions were about the church.      We are only allowed to answer questions about family history and bear a brief testimony about why we do family history work, I did just that.  We are not allowed to proselytize in the Library.  We want people to feel comfortable coming here.  Since she still had more questions I introduced her to the younger Sister missionaries  ...

Bags of fun, temple bags, and little bags for temple workers.

these little bags were made by the lady who gave me the fabric. I thought they were a cute idea. we lucked out one afternoon, after all, the embassy wives came for a luncheon. They had a lot of Persian food leftover and offered it to all the staff in the library. I had a small lunch that day so I was very happy to have it. One missionary asked me to sew a tag that he could sew onto his temple bag, I actually sewed it on for him. HE WAS TICKLED!
