I have been hemming up pants for Elders or restitching the hems that have fallen out The The Laundry facility . The apts at night are well lit for safety and we have 24 hour security My over night visitor. The Cordon's had company coming, and asked me to watch their dog over night. I think their guest had allergies? ANyway Amy the dog was very well behaved, never barked and slept on her blamket at teh end of my bed the whole night. I returned her in the morning. It was nice having someone to talk to. She is a St. Charles Caviler. My son Ben has one. They named her Angelina. She is a sweet heart. she shecke dout my couch and explored my porch in the morning. A ukelele performance group for our fireside Sunday night. I was surprised at how many of the songs that I knew. There was a variety of folk, popular, movie tunes. It was nice. Some of our missionaries got up to play along with them. The group had brought spare ukeleles. I saw this and really like...

Missionaries coming and going.....

Out with the old in with the new. so about every six weeks, we receive anywhere from  25-30 something missionaries on a Monday evening. They fly in from Utah, Provo MTC, or the MTC in Mexico. (the ones who are Spanish speaking). The Mission office staff with several vans and President and his wife go to greet them and pick them up. Then they return here for a brief orientation. We then serve them dinner at the mission President's home. It is quite an undertaking to feed about 40 people, missionaries, staff, etc. They spend the night at the apts and meet their companions in the morning, after the rest of their orientation My friend Cindy Nemrow, (who was serving in Korea with her husband Norm some years ago) were mission presidents there. SO I learned a lot about her duties. When I first met with the mission president several weeks ago, I told him I would be happy to help his wife cook for these kinds of gatherings. So Sunday evening she called me asking if...

So things were pretty quiet on Thursday evening, that is when I work the shift from 2-9 pm. So Friday was pretty steady and calm. We had a few patrons here and there. Friday is normally our movie night.  I passed it up because I wanted to do some sewing and reading. I altered some outfits for The Cordon's daughter. She leaves on her mission on Wed this week. She will be serving in Florida. Our Saturdays are usually a little busier at the library more patrons coming and going. My Friend, sister Y dropped by again and I gave her the pillowcases for her grandkids that I had completed. Sat night I decided to make myself a tuna noodle casserole and a shepherd's pie. I have forgotten how much I enjoy cooking when I have time.  I want to freeze portions to eat during the week to eat for dinner. I usually am so hungry by the time I get home that I want to eat right away. I went to bed at 10:30 and slept until 9:30. I woke up Sunday with a stuffy head and was a lit...

At 3:30 I got a text message from Sister Cordon asking me if I would like to join them for their daughter's setti...

My new friend I met in the genealogy class my first day here, came for a visit on Wed. Sister Y brought her granddaughters. So we had a fun morning doing some embroidering, having a picnic and visiting the  Family search library. They really enjoyed some of the family history extras on the programs, like seeing which ancestor you look like. We got their backpacks ready for school. I made a towel for our Sister B in the library as her birthday was Monday. Later in the week, I finished the pillowcase designs that each of them wanted. Their Grandma was up here on Sat and picked them up from me in the library. This week was pretty good and I was kept busy with missionary referral followups. I was also learning more family search tricks. Now that my head doesn't hurt it is much easier to figure out the Family Search program. on Friday: I was able to help this sweet elderly lady from Argentina find her desceased friend's family.  she is helping her friend's k...
